Can I trust your name translation?

First of all, every kanji name available on this site was created by a person fluent in both Japanese and English and checked by native Japanese speakers. Our translator has also made every effort to balance the following considerations when searching for the best kanji combination:

What is your returns policy for calligraphy scrolls?

We operate a 100% Satisfaction Guarantee:

If you are dissatisfied with your calligraphy in any way, contact us within 40 days of placing your order and you can choose to receive a full refund of the purchase price (not including shipping costs) or have us make and send a replacement. Simply repackage the product, send it back and contact us with instructions about how you would like us to proceed.

We will not charge additional shipping to send you a replacement calligraphy scroll, should you choose this option. However, we would appreciate your understanding that these are handcrafted items that take a number of weeks to produce.

How to order if your name is already in our database

If your name is one of the more than 2,200 images already available in our download database, you can see the meaning and pronunciation of the kanji we will use right now by entering your name into our shop search.

Is online shopping safe?

We use the world-class facilities of WorldPay to handle all our credit card transactions and currency conversions, giving you the highest levels of security and fraud prevention.

In addition, unlike many online retailers, we never see your credit card details giving you an further level of security.

How to order a name not in our database

If your name is not in our extensive database, or you would like to see if it can be translated a different way then we will follow the following procedure to ensure you receive the best quality translation:

  1. Please input both the name and an explanation of the pronunciation when asked to during check out.
  2. Using the information you provide, we will translate the name and email you a smalll image of the kanji, along with their meaning and pronunciation.
  3. If you are satisfied, you should then contact us to tell us to proceed with your order.
If we need to translate your name specially like this, we would appreciate it if you would note the following:
  • Your credit card will not be charged until we receive the go-ahead from you. (Step 3, above.)
  • However, we can only put charges on hold for a maximum of 5 days, so any delay in receiving your go-ahead may result in you having to re-enter your payment information. (We will ensure that your card is only charged one time for each purchase.)
  • The time to delivery (see below) will only start from the point at which we receive your go-ahead, not from the time the order was initially made.
What credit cards can I pay with?

You can use either of the following credit cards: Visa and Mastercard. You can also use Delta debit cards.

What is happening with my order?

First of all, you can check the progress of your order by signing in through the “My Account” link in the shopping cart:

  1. Enter your email and password.
  2. Click the “Check My Orders” link.
  3. Select the order you are interested in and click the order number.
  4. You will now see the details of your order.
  5. Scroll down to the bottom of the page where it says “Order Status”.
  6. The current status of your order is displayed on the right of this section.
If your order has been dispatched, but has not yet arrived at the address you specified, you can track it’s progress by entering the EMS item number we send you at this Japan Post Office site (in English).

How will my calligraphy be delivered?

Your calligraphy scroll will be delivered using insured EMS international airmail within 30 days of receiving your order, or within 30 days of receiving your go-ahead to proceed with your order.

We charge a flat-rate of $20 for delivery anywhere in the world, although this may be reduced sometimes when we have a special promotion. Please check the site for the lastest information.

In the shopping cart, you can specify whether to have your calligraphy shipped to you, as a gift from you or as an anonymous gift. The default is to have it shipped to you.

What currencies can I shop with?

You can choose to pay in US Dollars, Euros or British Pounds when completing your purchase in WorldPay's secure payment screen. On this page you can also see the exact amount you will be charged in your chosen currency.

If your credit or debit card does not use one of these currencies, you can still use it to purchase a calligraphy image here. Your credit or debit card provider will perform their own exchange rate conversion before charging you in the card's native currency. Although we obviously cannot state what rates your provider will use in this calculation, you can get an idea of how much you will probably be charged by using this
currency converter.
